With over 300 million blogs written in the English language, the blogging industry is one of the most lucrative internet niches. Blogging doesn’t have to be difficult; you don’t need expensive software or a large team to start a blog.

Blogging is a form of content curation and sharing that can create opportunities for self-employment. It’s one of the most popular ways to make money online. This guide will show you the basics on how to start your blog, how to monetize it, and some tips on how to avoid scams.

2. Utilize Your Professional Leverage to Choose Your Blog’s Niche to make money online

Once you’ve found an audience who will produce better results for your business, the next step is to find the specific parts of your company that make you unique vs. your competition.

Ask yourself:

  •   What is my current level of expertise?
  •  What associations do I have in my industry?
  • *Would I be able to use this experience to create a blog?

If I could contribute to any website, who would take me seriously from the start?

If you want to have a successful blog, the first thing is building your reputation. And to do so,  need to take small steps outside of the comfort zone that will lead you to greater opportunities. You just have to leverage the experience, connections, and power that are at your disposal. Connecting with new people is an important aspect of the business. You will also be doing outreach to make new connections.

The outreach process involves building relationships with sites that might want to publish guest content. These high Domain  Authority sites provide great backlinks, which Google still values a lot. According to Broadbandsearch.co.uk’s 2019 UK Internet stats, Google processes 3.5 billion searches per day – that’s over 40,000 searches every second! Plenty of opportunities for advertisers and publishers to tap into a thriving marketplace. And when you’re just starting, you may not have many connections or published content. You might think: “Why would anyone feature me?”

Leveraging your background helps tremendously. For example, if you’re a photographer, you might have a base of clients, contacts from local meet-up groups, and even know photography influencers that you met in the past. If you can leverage these contacts in the future, you can accelerate the growth of your blog.

3. Your niche needs market demand to make money online

Before starting, it’s essential to do some research. Look for searches relating to your topic and see which ones would generate revenue if you were able to capitalize on them.

The two principal kinds of monetizable phrases are “ideal” list posts and “how-to” guides.

Two of the best keywords to optimize your affiliate marketing business are:

  • *In movement, this could be “best travel protection” or “best travel rucksack.”
  •  In finance, it very well may be “best bank accounts” or “best Roth IRA.”
  • In tech, it very well may be “best VR headset” or “best PS5 special features.”

Plenty of “best” guides are out there that recommend products written by bloggers. Most of them have affiliate programs to join, so they can monetize their content.

As there are many “how-to” guides, these could be:

  • In advertising, how to make a site.
  • In way of life, how to adorn your kitchen.
  • In wellbeing, how to dispose of skin inflammation.

These how-to guides are great for advising about your passion and will also contain affiliate links. Once you know your strengths and passions, take that niche and see what keywords come up in the results.

After finding a few keywords, use a keyword research tool like GrowthBar, Google Keyword Planner, SEMRush, or Ahrefs to find more. Using GrowthBar, you’ll be able to do your research while you’re already on Google. A few words with search volumes of at least 5,000 are some good examples of some possible topics you can write about in your blog post. For example, my target keyword here is ‘AI writing assistants’.

Find the keyword to make money online

Find the keyword difficulty score, which is a number from 0 to 100 that tells you how competitive it will be for the keyword. If your Keyword is above 80, competition may be too fierce. Keywords with at least 2,000 monthly searches and a difficulty score lower than 50 make it easier to rank highly in Google. A good SEO strategy can help your site rank higher. One way to do this is to use Ahrefs to see the first SERP page’s Domain Rating and its position history.

Analyzing the top 10 results in SERPS (i.e. Google) for your niche would give you an indication of your new blog will get traffic when it goes live. If all 10 pages’ DR is over 70, it’s unlikely that your blog with only a DR of 0 will make it to page one; however, if you find one that has Lasted if over the last few months the SERP position history has stayed constant with positions 1-5 on page 1 of Google, that means that the competition might be too high for this keyword.

To recap, when exploring your blog’s target market, you should focus on points that carry popular phrases.

  • 2,000+ month to month look
  • A watchword trouble score under 50
  • The principal page of Google has something like one site with a DR under 50
  • A SERP position history that has changed as of late.

You should spend less time worrying about the writing and more time focusing on topics. Keyword research is very important when it comes to blogging because you need to target one keyword for each post. When choosing a niche for your blog, you should take into account things like your audience’s budget, potential professional leverage, and current market demand. Find an audience you’re a part of and understand their challenges.

Up-level them by showing how they’ll be impacted by the idea. Leverage your network, job experience, and anything else at your disposal. If you’re starting a new blog, the key to your first 90 days has nothing to do with blogging. You won’t write a single word while building your new blog. So what will you be doing?

Remember that you’re not just a blogger, you’re the whole business owner.

From day 0 to day 90, you shouldn’t be focusing your energy on writing first drafts and I won’t give the same old, outdated advice. However, I refuse to talk about how to write about your passions, follow an editorial calendar, writing habits, writing consistency, (or anything about writing for that matter). Instead, we’re going to grow your blog like a startup and establish credibility in your niche faster. And so one way to get started with content marketing is to find some freelance writers for your blog. A site like Fiverr is a great place to find quality bloggers that can help out on projects that you don’t feel like writing or just need more people.

The cycle generally includes five primary parts:

1. Outreach

2. Guest Post

3. Outsource

4. Backlinks

5. Repeat indefinitely

When I first launched my blog, 1,000+ websites linked back to it and provided a 74 DR boost. Almost 7 years later, I still see huge traffic increases. If you’re a blogger who wants to focus on writing, consistency, passion, and habits, then you don’t need to read any further. However, if you want to grow your blog like a CEO (rather than a hobby blogger) or are serious about making money blogging, then continue reading.
